Polish President Karol Nawrocki has expressed a strong commitment to fostering innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, positioning Poland as a key player in the global tech landscape. Speaking at the ElevenLabs Summit in Warsaw, Nawrocki emphasized that Poland is transitioning from a technology consumer to a producer of advanced solutions. He underscored the nation’s involvement in Industry 4.0 and the vital role that innovation plays in driving economic growth and enhancing national competitiveness.
Highlighting the success of Polish AI firm ElevenLabs, Nawrocki pointed to the company as a testament to Poland’s potential in technology. Founded by Mati Staniszewski and Piotr Dąbkowski, ElevenLabs has achieved global recognition as a leader in generative audio artificial intelligence. The president attributed Poland’s rise as one of the world’s leading economies to the efforts of entrepreneurs and innovators, who have significantly bolstered the country’s economic standing.
Nawrocki also emphasized the necessity of maintaining robust transatlantic partnerships and sustaining investment in technology to promote both economic development and national security. Addressing concerns about artificial intelligence, he expressed confidence in the responsible conduct of Polish tech firms and highlighted initiatives using AI to preserve historical heritage, such as projects that have recreated the voices of notable Polish historical figures.
In addition, Nawrocki reiterated his backing for the proposed Breakthrough Technology Development Fund, a legislative effort aimed at providing financial support to companies developing strategic technologies. The fund’s objective is to fuel research and development projects and strengthen the collaboration between universities, businesses, and public institutions. This initiative is intended to accelerate innovation, enhance competitiveness, and solidify Poland’s status as a leading technology hub in Europe.
